The file "Copland Icon Worksheet" contains a set of icons done in the Copland style for the System 7 system folder. It works nicely with the Elenay Copland WDEF.
I have no guarantees that these will look much like the final Apple icons. The style, however, should be close enough that it shouldn't be that different from the final.
Instructions
You'll be needing a copy of ResEdit (obviously). The icons aren't a complete set, but I provided at least icl8 and ics8 for each, as well as hacked versions of the Espy Sans font used in most of the publicly-demonstrated screenshots.
If you don't know ResEdit, don't even try to do this yourself.
1. Open up the Copland Icon Worksheet file in ResEdit.
2. Open up your system file.
3. Select the icl8 you wish to copy and paste into the icl8 window of your System file.
4. Open the icl8 in the System, then double-click the Marquee tool to select the entire icon. Paste into the other fields, then fill in the Mask outline.
5. Repeat the process for the ics8 component.
6. Rename the System Folder to MacOS Folder and install the Copland WDEF (optional).
7. Force-quit the Finder or restart the computer to see your new icons.
Though the revised-for-Copland Human Interface Guidelines have not been published, the style guidelines for application folders seem to be that an app folder consists of a standard folder with an ics# attached to the bottom left quarter of the icon. How's that help?
About the Fonts
Espy Sans is Apple's standard font for use with eWorld and AppleGuide. The versions here are specially modified to be used as system fonts with the addition of the command key symbol and other odds and ends like checkmarks.
They have been assigned different resource IDs from 30000-30005. In order to make one the standard system font, simply copy the resource ID from the FOND that contains it and paste into the FOND 0 resource in the System file. Change the name of the FOND 0 resource to "System Font" or some such so you can use Chicago normally. The font suitcase drops in the System Folder just like any other suitcase. FWIW, Espy Sans Bold/Copland 10 is NFNT 30001.
Espy Sans/Copland is a bitmap font.

This package is freeware. It is based on someone's previous work, based in turn on screen shots in MacUser, MacWorld, and MacWeek after Apple's unveiling of Copland at the 1995 WWDC. These icons may be used for any use, commercial or otherwise.
I am not certain of the legalities surrounding the fonts; should someone have an objection to my using Apple's fonts I shall cease and desist. But if not, enjoy.
I will accept no liability for damage to data due to this package. The installation procedures are such that if you don't know what you're doing you shouldn't be doing it.
